Can anyone of you help me with this!? I want to automat the Yamaha O2R using the 2408 and G3 with DP. What do I need? Is a lightpipe connection between interface and mixer enough or do I need some sort of MIDI interface? Thanx.

I'm not competent for this thing (even if i'm a small DP user) but hands on experience is needed.

Have you tried the MOTU site (and the Yam too)

Else a mail with both would be a good Idea.

In case it can help (completely different but who knows) on the soundcraft site there a special documents for interfacing digital328 with DP or 2408. Maybe it can help.

And there must be a 02R mailing list lurking somewhere, it's always a great place for practical info especially on a big toys config. smile.gif

what do you mean "automat"

if you mean use automation on the O2r then some sort of time code will be necessary between you computer and it - (the automation has to a location) if you have a midi interface then basic MTC from computer to o2r will sufice. Light pipe is for the audio - you can also use this to clock the 02r - be aware that some ADAT clock options are not fantastic but it really is increadably boring.....

goodluck

I think you will need the MOTU MiditimepieceAV. I don't have a digital mixer but I do have a 2408 and MTP. You can sync the MTP to you soundcard and wordclock to the O2R. The MTP will give you Midi Machine Control that will automat you fader moves on the O2R with the mixer in DP.

Hope this will help if not please hit me! smile.gif
