If anyone has advice for me using MidiKeys with Reason
that would be greatly appreciated. I have installed both,
but I have no sound coming through. Reason is reacting to
the keys pressed, but I still hear nothing.

Any Suggestions?
Thanks

Hey all,
I am a guitar based singer/songwriter, just messing
around with reason. I don't have a KB so I installed
MIDIKEYS. I know it may be lame, but I just want to
have fun. I have installed both programs, but when
I hit the keys on the MIDIKEYS I get no sound

Any Help.
Thanks so much

A bit of a general remark, for all… Please, post only in one forum, if it's misplaced, we (moderators) will move it. but crossposting won't give you a faster answer, people are not here 24/7 and we have the right not to know…

To get back on your problem…

Have you correctly set up the Audio MIDI Utility? (in apps/utilities)

In case there are 2 other softwares doing the same thing on our software tracker

Sorry for the two post's I'm new to the
forums. I am not 100% sure what your
talking about but I will have a look.
Can you be more specific in what and
where I should look in the utilities.
Thanks again,

Sorry if this sounds patronising but it sounds like your fairly new to Reason and as I don't know what your set up is, here are a couple of basic things you can check...

You said that Reason is reacting to the key presses so:

Have you selected an instrument that is connected to the mixer? (A MIDI symbol will appear next to the name of the instrument)
Is the MIDI light flashing when you press a key?
Are all of the levels on the mixer turned up?
Any mute or solo buttons pressed on the mixer?
On the instrument its self, have you selected a patch/instrument?
In preferences, is the audio out setting set to Built In Audio?

Good luck. . .
