I'm really impressed by the new 1U macintosh racks from Apple:
The Xserve, primary targeted as a server, could certainly soon become a wonderfull studio/live machine (even now, if it can boot in OS9?): Lets take a look at the features: - 1U (only!!!!) rack !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - dual G4 at 1GHz - 1CD-Rom drive - hot-pluggable drives for up to 480GB of internal storage... -1 (small) AGP - 2 PCI ( for the audio or SCSI card?) - 3 Firewire ports (two on back panel, one on front panel) - 2 USB, giga ethernet, etc.... - It's so beautyfull! I want one!!!!! It is shipped with OSX server, but will it boot on MacOS9, the needed OS for the current music software? read more: http://www.apple.com/xserve/ -------------------- Soif, MacMusic Webmaster
