I need some way of playing MIDI into Logic Express plus recording microphones, guitars etc. So far the RME Fireface 800 and the MOTU 828mkII look good. Any other options I could look at or criteria I should consider? Ta 
I've got a load of piano samples that I would like to play using my keyboard plugged into a MIDI interface into my Mac. The idea is that the samples would be mapped to each key and my Mac would then produce the fine Steinway sound for me.
Can I do this using Logic Express 7?
So far it seems that I need an 'EXS instrument editor' to do this, but it's not available in LE7. Is this right? Are there any other methods?
