just dabbling with midi a little bit using virtual instruments in cubase on my mac. i don't want to spend a lot of money.. i'm thinking some kind of cheap casio from a yard sale or something as a controller. for now i'm using "midikeys" wich allows me to use my computer keyboard. but an actual keyboard would be a lot more fun.
i just don't know a lot about midi hardware. i know i'll need a midi to usb adapter, just not sure if all keyboards with midi ports will work, or is there something else involved.
If you buy a MIDI keyboard and a MIDI to USB converter , it will cost you a similar amount as the cheaper USB-MIDI keyboards and they just plug straight in and your away...
Cheap Midi Controllers, any cheap keyboard with a midi out port?
