I have two External LaCie 40gig Studio Drives which are now full, and its about time I bought a new one (Im also really tired of the noise they make!)

What is the best Quiet External Hard Drive available?
Are the LaCie d2’s any good?
And most importantly are they nice and quiet?

Also, anyone using the LaCie Porshe External Hard Drives?
Any good, Quiet?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Yeah, I heard the d2s are just as loud as the earier LaCie drives.
-but thats "hear-say" Ihaven't heard it yet but I'm looking for a new drive myself. Keep me posted if you find somthing.

Check out the new Glyph GT series. They advertise HD that are quiet for recording. They look great but a little pricey compared to standard Ext FFW HDs.

Happy hunting- Karl
