Member Group: Members Posts: 66 Joined: 11-Oct 04 From: - PT Member No.: 52,995	I've just bought this Lacie D2 Extreme 250gb and I find it noisy or perhaps it's not in good conditions. It is connected to the PC via USB 1. ( I will connect it to a Powerbook next week ) I can hear a kind of fan ( or maybe is the drive rotating. Is it suposed to be always rotating ? )which makes an high pitch noise . And I can hear some strange noises like some metal thing is scratching the case. This happens sometimes (as an example,this happens when I select all the folders in the drive and then right-click in properties ) . Is this normal ? Everywhere I read it says this drive is silent but mine is not.

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 15 Joined: 31-Oct 04 From: Mason - US Member No.: 54,211	lol who told you the Lacie drives were silent????? don't get me wrong i LOVE my lacie external drive but they are noisy "I believe like a aircraft" lol but what are you going to do. i am going to research enclosing it in another case to deaden the noise i would at the moment but....... anyways don't worry your drive is in good working condition it would concern me more if it was silent lol
