In Logic7 Express you have the ability to assign nearly everything to your midi controllers: - volume, pan, plug in parameters, etc ... with the Learn function (Command+L) - transport, opening windows, activate function or anything you want with the Midi Remote in the Keyboard Shorcuts window. I'm talking about hundreds of functions here: zoom, cut/copy, sreensets recalls and so on ... It's largely enough for a lot of users, I guess. And it's even more with Pro.

Thanks a bunch for your feedback folks,
One more midi question for Logic Express. Anybody know if it supports multiple control surfaces... Just fishin'.
Thanks
