that sounds really awkward... why would you want to run protools and cubase at same time... just to run a VST instrument plug? If so, I would just import the midi into cubase, record the audio and then pull the audio file into protools... I haven't had much luck running any applications requiring midi with protools running at the same time but I only tried a couple of different apps such as my graphic EQ app for my Zoom RFX 2000 multi-effects unit and some other cheap midi apps. It may be possible but seem like a hassle to setup.

HI, it's possible to run Protools in a computer and ....another with Cubase. it's not the best way, for accurency synchronisation in MMC. The ultimate choice is to make a midifile, load in Protools 5.1.1, or buy Logic Audio... i supposed every one will expect the best way to run with a good Midi sequencer... audio tracks with crazy plugs, and automation, so easy....
