Help!

I think I've buggered up my nice Dynaudio BM6As sad.gif

Last night, I decided to try getting 33rpm records to play through my Mbox. I plugged the turntable (RCA) into the Mbox input (XLR) with the little light on "line".

The monitors were switched to +4db input, and the sound was weakish so I stopped and switched to -10db. The music came out louder but not booming so I turned up the gain. However, the red "something wrong" light lit on both monitors, and then bzzz then...... no sound. I switched everything off as soon as I could.

Tried again later playing an MP3 from the HD through itunes. If I put my ears to the speakers I can hear the music very faintly and a buzz. However, the green light is on on both monitors and there's no problem through the phones.

I tried again today, but the problem didn't go away during the night.

What happened????? blink.gif

Thanks. The mp3 I tried was one of yours, add9 angry.gif
I think I shouldn't have tried to do better than you by adding 10 instead of subtracting 4 blink.gif

We had one of the BM6 (there was a dozen) that did this in Frankfurt. It came back afew hours later, don't ask me how… (to much analogue in the head)

have you tried to switch them off completely? (unplugged from the wall)

Unplugged all night! Then in the morning no improvement.

Also, both went off at the same time, not just one.

Another point, they went down just after I'd switched them on and they were cold - the temperature was 7°C.

Maybe I should bring them in the house tonight and see what happens.

I know it's stupid, but have you reversed the settings after and should use them normally now? rolleyes.gif
