my main system 10.3.9 on a T4 has developed a glitch where I cant create new users - I use this to test software problems sometimes create a new user to see if my system is a problem. Im about to up0grade thru the Tiger barrier as im beginning to trust protools 7 but wonder about starting again if i cant find how to fix the fact i cant create new users

Yes its not locked - in fact on another drive i have to unlock wheras here im automatically unlocked - maybe ive done unix hoodoo

Thanks but yes full admin cleaned permissions cleaned cache everything I can think of - but nothing happens when I click on + for new user

Have you tried to lock/unlock the prefpanel?

Download OnyX and check in the "apparence" (first menu at left, I'm not sure it's this name in English) go to session and check if all users appear (admin and standard users should be checked).

After this,, you're a mystery to me , it'll be time to move to either the forums at apple support (there's knowledgeable people and Apple tech around) or in places like macosxhints'forums. And of course tell us…
