Hi

I can´t work with the fan noise my iMac g5 20" do.
I always work in a silent environment.
I'm thinking of buying a Powerbook g4 1,67hz 15 " which I think is silent.
Do you think I will loose a lot of power?
I'm using Logic Pro 7 software with no extra plug-ins.

Thank you

Alex

A 1,8 GHz G5 is roughly 2,8 GHz of G4.

Now, if you run not a lot of plug-ins, you should be all right.

Other opinions ? huh.gif

And by the way , that would be a Pentium 4...?

Well.. you could always try to build a sound-absorbing box around
your noisy G5.

A friend af mine did.
(and that was a grey G4 b.t.w)

Trouble is, the mac is the screen, so it's not the easiest. And Apple still don't have as far as I know a working trick to get rid of this on the plagued iMacs.

Now I've seen tricks done by guys on G5Support which seem to help a lot. It goes from bits of rubbers at specific places to silencing cardboard folded and glued as a noise canceller at the air out behind the iMac. Check these. cool.gif
