Hi there Does anybody know if you can buy those fancy internal superdrives seperatley? If so would I be able to install on my G3 imac?

I also need to buy a flat bed scanner can I use any thing or soes it have to be mac specific?

And finally does anybody know of a big and quiet hard drive I replace my current really bloody noisy one with ?

Basically any modern scanner with usb/fw/scsi interface from a reputable maker like Epson, HP and the like should work just fine.

Have an Epson Perfection SU-1640 myself at home, it works great.

What about mac driivers. Are they on the provided discs or available for download? or does osx have drivers built in?

Depends on the Scanner, in OS-X you get a bunch of drivers for printers at least. ( HP, Epson Canon - among others)
Dont remember offhand if any drivers for scanners were included.

To my Epson-1640 - I download drivers from Epson-s website. They install as a twain-module/driver, so I can aquire the scanner from the Filemenu in Photoshop.

Safest bet would be to visit the scanner vendors website-s and download the proper drivers.
