Hi All
Ive always wondered, is that AUDIO IN port on the MAC stereo or mono. I use Macromedias Sound Edit 16 to record audio. Ive never been able to get it to record in stereo. Is it my sound settings, is it Sound Edits, or the mac?

thanks for the help

The reason you can't record in stereo is: the 1/8" jack that you are using is not long enough.
You need to buy "1/8" Mac special jack" biggrin.gif : it' s a bit longer and cost much more.
You have to buy it from Apple or Apple's dealers.

i believe the input you are speaking of is not really "audio" input. yes it can be used for that but as mentioned before... the 8500, 8600, 9500, 9600 Beige models were last to really have true "audio" and video inputs and they were stereo. 1/8" inputs now are more or less made for a external mic and thus you get only mono.

natedogg2380, you have both in & out 16 bit 1/8" stereo jack.
Look inside your owner manual. biggrin.gif
