Whilst I have succesfully sync'd my 909 to logic 5.5 running in OS 10.3.9, I have still not been able to sync it with Logic pro 7 running in OS 10.4.8 on the same computer. It is definitely sth to do with the operating system or logic 7, as these are the only differences from the other set up where the tempo syncs perfectly.

What is really frustrating is that it is almost the correct tempo, so every time I am checking if it is correct, I have to run for 60 or so bars before I can judge if it is definitely still out of timing. I cannot go back to using Logic 5 bcs I need the use of the EXSsampler and other soft synths that I don't have authorised for Logic 5.

Please Help!!!

Thanks,
Brett

Is it the same Interface too ?
Have you a USB hub somewhere ? (I guess there a midi interface in USB uh?)
Have you checked the system preferences for energy saving set up?
In the old set up the 909 was slave or master?
(note, it may be logic, but I'm not competent enough there)

Yep, the only difference in the new setup is that I'm using Logic Pro 7 in OS 10.4 instead of Logic 5.5 in OS 10.3.9. The MIDI interface works fine apart from the tempo drift.

i have a very strong feeling it's related to Logic Pro 7 and not the OS, because the same problem happened with Logic 7 in OS 10.3.9.

What's the interface?

Yep, it can be only Logic or the System… Have you done the updates to Logic or it's 7.0?
