I recently opened up the Loop Browser in Logic Pro 7.1.1 and i was pretty surprised that almost all of the loops were gone... especially the non-audio-loops don't show up anymore... i never installed additional apple loops, or changed anything with the loop browser... does anyone know, how i can get back these loops without reinstalling Locic Pro?

Are they still physically on the hard drive? Are they in their folder?

If yes, then it's a problem internal to the loop browser.

If not, Houston we have a problem…

i think they're still on the HD... but i'm not quite shure... there is a folder called "Apple Loops" where they seem to be inside (but not the folder in the user library, they're inside the folder of the Macintosh HD Library)... I copied those files into the user library but still the loop browser did'nt find them...

any suggestions how i can tell the loop browser where he has to get these files from?

Have you tried just to move the apple loops folder onto the browser window? (click, move and drop) cool.gif

somehow i fixed now the problem... i bought a jam pack and pulled all the apple loops on the dvd to the loop browser, after i copied them into the AppleLoops Library folder. After that all the factory loops were suddenly available again... strange blink.gif
but anyway they're back and i'm happy again cool.gif

The Jam Packs have to be installed using an installer which puts the loops and index files in the right place.

If you ever lose the files again you can always drag/n/drop new loops right onto the loop browser and it will rebuild the index. Actaully, I think if you add even one file, it will reindex the entire loop folder.

Apple Loops are found in two places:

/library/audio/Apple Loops
/library/application support/garageband/apple loops

Jam Packs seem to be installed in the old garageband place and in the new /library/audio/apple loops/ place depending on how old the jam pack is.

anyone here have Jam Pack World Music? I just got this about 2 months ago and sitll can't believe how amaizng it is.

Yes, I have. The virtuals instruments are good, specially african instruments, but the loops, except percussions, are not amazing… huh.gif
