The new macs biproc and DDR don't like the Digi01 at all. Digi confirmed this on their site.

Is that DDR memory? I was thinking of getting some ram for the G4 and I do own a Digi001... Should I just stick with getting the same kind of RAM that I already have in my mac?

The only Power Macs that use DDR ram are the new silver door, blowhole models.

Hey Teiwaz, you keep resuscitating old dead threads ? wink.gif

BTW this one was never answered in a correct way… (got to do everything myself laugh.gif laugh.gif

Well, nothing to do (as far as I know) with the DDR, but with the motherboard design YES! It's Apple fault. It doesn't like some chips on these cards…

In fact beside the Digi001 2 other PCI cards had the problem, solution

- can come from a simple change in extensions order to the replacement of the motherboard on these macs. blink.gif

- If the Digi001has a motorola chip with a name finishing by "3F48S", you have to ask Digi for a card with a card with a "2K30A" chip (An Apple guy gave this info in the french forums…)

- If Protools is on a hard drive on the ATA100 port move to the ATA66, it'll work…

there must be some info at Digi site too wink.gif

Hmmmm. Well, this is better than "Through the Looking Glass": the fault is with Apple, but the solution comes from DidWeDesign.

Hmmmm. Fascinating. Simply fascinating.
