Dear Friends, I am running Logic Pro 7.1.1 and East West Platinum Symphony on a 1.33 GHz PowerBook G4 Laptop with 2G RAM. Is there a setting I can change so that the samples will allow me more than 3 or 4 notes of polyphony at at a time? Right now, the only thing I have running is a string track the Symphony, and I can't play more than 3 notes at a time before notes start dropping out. It's like it's running out of memory or something. Thanks for any help you can offer. Sincerely, hahaworld

Are the samples running from the internal hard drive? If so… you just hit the wall, I'd say. wink.gif

Thanks for the reply! I am actually running the samples from an external LaCie firewire hard drive. Should the samples be running from the internal hard drive on my laptop? Thank you so much!

Certainly NOT ! blink.gif

So the reason is elsewhere…

Are there anything beside the Platinum Symphony at work in Logic?

Hi, lepetitmartien!

I've got a new question regarding East West Platinum Symphony. I just installed it on a new Mac Quad G5 desktop with 4.5G RAM, running it in Logic Pro 7.1, and the snaps, crackles and pops are just terrible. The samples are running from an external Maxtor FW800 drive. I can't even play 2 notes without the yellow DFD light flashing and going from yellow to red as the sounds just die. I've messed with the latency settings in the Audio Hardware control panel in Logic to no avail.

Is there a setting I'm missing, or something I should know about the Kompakt player that will allow me to actually use these samples?

Thanks for any info you can supply!

Sincerely,
hahaworld

Would that be the I/O Buffer in the Audio preferences? Thanks, friend!
