It sounds like something of another time. Of all ways he is not comparable with the news of Apple-Intel. This is more ¨real world¨

The comparison was for the fun of it wink.gif

Now it means still SSL will be around some more time, and PG will be SSLfull for less, but I very interested into the market broadening they've been vocative about… wink.gif

I knew someone would keep it alive...they're just too widely respected to go down, though it's a sign of the times. God bless the home studio, God save the audio industry dinosaurs!

At least the service industry won't be flooded with ex SSL employees all looking for a job or, gulp, going freelance!!

Maybe SSL should move into the home studio market, an SSL badged budget 'logic control' or 'procontrol' would go down nicely, virtual knobs, a couple of analog channel paths with moving faders, a stereo compressor and a little classic eq and vca noise and you're in business!! What about semi professional audio, they could do a great car hi-fi or home theatre system, walkmans, SSL iPods? The list is endless.

Cash in on the brand image! 'Harmon' ize it!

Welcome sing of the times! God blessed to us with the gift of music. But in all this history there is something affects. I am with Lepetit. It touches the soul.

I love the idea of artist getting into the money of it.

David Bowie went public, Moby was marketed through advertising, Thomas Dolby is now in the technology end of things. This can only be good for the creative community long term. Most corporations are all about the bottom line, but when the artists themselves are in the corporate mix, this suggests to me that other artists are going to be better catered to.

Only an artist who knows how it is to deal with the corporate players, is really in a position to understand how a corporation may best serve the artist. I think this means good things down the road. Could very well mean that artists will actually be able to have ownership of their own work, theoretically speaking.

Blessings,
Damon

huh.gif must've lost something in translation!

What would you do if you owned SSL?
Will we see the SSL 'Real World' , the 'Genesis' laugh.gif
The thing is, they make such good consoles that you just need to sit back and let them get on with it. I guess the accountants will want to lose the loss making departments, like maybe cut back on R & D, or the video stuff or whatever and get the books back on the good side of zero.
They're based in Woodstock, why not throw a music festival as a fundraiser?? Just a thought. unsure.gif
