I've got a brand-new iMac G5 (1GB RAM, 2Ghz processor, running Tiger) and have been attempting to use a Firepod with it, because Cubase LE won't install on Tiger yet (http://www.presonus.com/tigerusers.html -- "within a week" has turned into almost a month).
I'm just testing out the Firepod/GarageBand setup by plugging a mic into Input 1 of the Firepod and doing vocals. It *seems* like I can record, but I only know this by seeing the level meters moving during playback. I can't hear any output at all through the headphones that are connected to the Firepod. I have Monitoring turned off for tracks I'm recording, and on for tracks I've already recorded, but I can't hear either at all. If I turn Monitoring on for the track I'm recording, I get feedback through the speakers -- and adjusting the level controls on the Firepod does nothing to stop it. Also, I've set all the parameters in the Audio/Midi Setup in Utilities to "Presonus Firepod". Anyone have any tips? Anyone having a similar experience? thanks in advance, Matt |
