I have a new iMac w/ Tiger, and have been making experimental recordings using a Presonus Firepod and GarageBand (only because Cubase LE only supports 4 inputs on Tiger at the moment...)
With Free Pro Tools on an old Mac, I was able to highlight one section of one track and add an effect to it. Is anything like this possible on GarageBand? It seems to only allow the effect to be applied to the entire duration of the selected track.
thanks in advance, Matt W.
I've got a brand-new iMac G5 (1GB RAM, 2Ghz processor, running Tiger) and have been attempting to use a Firepod with it, because Cubase LE won't install on Tiger yet (http://www.presonus.com/tigerusers.html -- "within a week" has turned into almost a month).
I'm just testing out the Firepod/GarageBand setup by plugging a mic into Input 1 of the Firepod and doing vocals. It *seems* like I can record, but I only know this by seeing the level meters moving during playback. I can't hear any output at all through the headphones that are connected to the Firepod. I have Monitoring turned off for tracks I'm recording, and on for tracks I've already recorded, but I can't hear either at all. If I turn Monitoring on for the track I'm recording, I get feedback through the speakers -- and adjusting the level controls on the Firepod does nothing to stop it. Also, I've set all the parameters in the Audio/Midi Setup in Utilities to "Presonus Firepod".
Anyone have any tips? Anyone having a similar experience?
thanks in advance, Matt
