Hello,

I am a recent (and very happy) PC > Mac convert. I had an external SB Extigy card with my old PC and have now started attempting to record again on my iBook G3 500. After reading some posts here, I grabbed Tracktion 1, and it's really cool. I plugged in my Extigy, and surprisingly it was recognized just fine.

The trouble I am having is that Tracktion won't let me transmit MIDI out from the Extigy to control external MIDI devices. Seems almost as though the MIDI part of the Extigy is not recognized, but the rest is. That seems odd, though.

Any ideas on how I might be able to resolve this?

Thanks
Chris

Welcome on board

Well, maybe its ROM is only made to make it recognized as a USB generic Audio Core peripheral. As OS X is not supported, I don't expect it to be able to be used as a MIDI peripheral on mac sad.gif

If you have correctly set up the AudioMIDI set up in apps/utilities… if MIDI is possible, it's show in the Midi part, if not… unsure.gif

Thanks for the reply. The forums are great.

Unfortunately, it looks like the SB Extigy is not supported for MIDI at this time in OSX. That being said, I need to get my hands on some sort of USB/Firewire audio interface that is.

Just need to be able to send audio in/out and control MIDI thru it.

Any reccomendations?

Thanks again
Chris

I'd say have a look on M-audio, but check here before, as some users have regular issues with. (I'm not up to date for entry level interfaces and there are new furnishers so…)
