Hey guys, Just wondering what you would recommend for a vsti either a soft sampler or general midi sound set. I just need something with the basics (pianos, bass, drums, strings, pads, etc) and don't want to spend a ton fo bread on what is essentially just a songwriting tool.
I know what's out there. What I want to know is what you're using or would use. Scott |

As far as you don't have to manipulate everything upside down things like Sampletank and Plugsound should do the trick. But there are recent packages on the same principle with maybe better manipulation that have come out. Sorry the names escape my poor head right now… but they should be in the Soft tracker anyway.

Gorgeously simple
And way less expensive. But you must import your sounds it seems… [edit, well, wounds instead of sounds… interesting…] This post has been edited by lepetitmartien: Sun 10 Oct 2004, 04:50 -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

Although it's a bit expensive, Hypersonic by Steinberg is good sounding and simple to use.

Most of the big name samplers have lite versions at a discounted price. Like Kompakt, Halion SE or Sampletank lite. MOTU has one too but I forgot the name of it

You can roll your own, or convert sound fonts, but Vsamp comes with a good size dowloadable sample library.
