I'm stuck with a load of .mpe files generated by a digital voice recorder that I'd love to be able to convert to a generally accessible format.

At the moment, the only way I can hear the files is by listening to them in Windows Media Player (for Windows 2000) by using Virtual PC. Media Player won't let me convert the files.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could tell me something about this .mpe format. I'd be over the moon if someone had a conversion solution!

I found this on Google in a time that should put you to shame…

All about MPE

Now, it seams to be precisely a format not made to be converted wink.gif
Not legally anyway.

If you read all this you'll know more about it than I do tongue.gif
