If anyone has gotten this to work let me know because i have tried EVERYTHING and nothing has seemed to work. I have a PowerBook G4 running Cubase SX on it and I am trying to record using a Motu 828 connecting by firewire. Cubase just won't recognize the Motu. Maybe it's because i'm missing some driver of the latest version of a driver...i just need someone to help me please!!!!

have you tried to download latest drivers from Motu site ?

Also are you in X or 9?

Now does the system recognize the 828? It should show up in the apple menu/ apple system information and in the Sound control pannel in 9.

If you have another one, try to switch of Firewire cable in case.

I have X. It did recognize it the first time i turned it on, but then i deleted the driver b/c it didn't recognize it after i had turned it off and then back on again. I reinstalled it but it has not recognized it since then. I just bought the firewire so i really don't think it's that.

It's definitely a driver problem.

When you made THE mistake, did you delete or did ou uninstall ?

I think it's the first term wink.gif

Make a proper uninstall then install cleanly. You have to uninstall your softwares under X properly thru the installer/uninstaller or it won't do the trick. cool.gif
