There seems to be a misunderstanding about this update. There are actually two of them. 7.0.1 is a free update. 7.1 is however a commercial update (about 20 euros). With 7.1 update you get several new features, plus two new synths. Search Apples site for Logic 7.1 and you'll find all info about it.

Exactly, a member signaled Apple answered him the update was too big for download so it must be bought at Apple and it'll come thru the postman.

7.1 is recommended for 10.4.2 users…
