hi everybody
i'm looking to move on up to the east side. really to a newer model mac. i use my current G4 OS 10.3.9 @ 125 ghz (originally 400) for making music via protools (mbox) i recently started using virtual instruments and found they can really suck up power. i need to upgrade my system. i was shopping for the dual 1.42 mirror door mac but the cost difference between that and some of the dual G5's (used) are only a few hundred dollars. i've never worked on or been around the G5 but i do want to get a machine that will carry me thru the next 3 or 4 years( w/ an upgrade here and there) any input will be welcomed.i have a budget of roughly 1800.00. i think a dual somthing would be better though because of the power needed, but don't have a clue as to which model is suited best for music. please help charliemak |

Without a doubt buys a G5!
To the speed that goes everything, nobody can say without being mistaken, that it's what is going to happen within 3 years. |

I got Art Vista's Virtual Grand Piano last week and the minimum for the Mac is a G5. You can get an Apple refurb dual 1.8 ghz Powermac for under $1600. Here http://www.powermax.com/cgi-global/generat....cgi?i=PM_CN_G5
