Okay, perhaps someone here can assist me on this...

It seems that each time I burn a file or two, equaling a couple MBs to CD, My (G4 1GHz dualie) Mac's burner automaticaly closes(write protects) the doomed disk after the burn, so I can no longer add any more material to the CD!!!! I haven't been able to figure out how to disengauge this action. Am I an idiot or is this just the way Apple has intended it? I have way too many CDs with over 600 megabytes of unusable disk space,,, not very efficiant.

How can I burn just a few files at a time onto my CDs and continue adding files from later sessions to the CD until it is full? So far I have been forced to compile enough files until they summ in total 700MB, then I finally commit them to CD,,,, This is nutzz.

Can someone share any wisdom on this problem? smile.gif

I can assure you Apple are NOT idiots (well… Give us a 10 G5 2GHz with 10 PCI slots and w'ell say it wink.gif

They use the Technologies from Astarté they bought last year (if I remember well). I haven't used this part of the system (just disabled it on a friend's mac so the only wisdom I can say is:
(and Astarté knew a thing or two on cd burning)

-check the controling software (there should be at least an control pannel) to see if there's not a checkbox which should be in a different state.

-trash the referal preferences files

-zap your PRAM and rebuikd your desktop

-prey!

-sacrifice a black animal on top of the mac (any specy will do)

-find a good psychatrist

If it doesn't work… use toast smile.gif and disable the Apple software (but I think it's just a wrong setting)
