Since we're talking about OWC stuff I thought I could get peoples opinions on their processor upgrades.
I upgraded my Sawtooth 400Mhz G4 with a OWC 1Ghz Processor. I am not entirely sure I like how it handles the amount of audio running around on my computer but I don't have anything to compare it to. Any thoughts? |

OWC support an excellent site xlr8yourmac which is the reference on all the possible upgrades. Wade thru it you'll learn the pros and cons in depth.
Be very carefull to: - the eventual uncompatibility with non OSX systems or even before OS 9 ones. Depends of the ones you need. - the resultant bus speed - the spec in the field you especially need. Go G4 anyway, you need Altivec. All processor upgrades are not equals! Also have a look at the compatibility page on Digidesign site, as they list the upgrade they know work ok for them, if it works for Protools, it'll work for you -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
