Hi,
Just bought a powerbook and I have all my PC files on an external western digital hard drive. I want my computer optimised mainly for audio so I was wondering whether I should reformat the external drive to the native mac format or keep the FAT32 (gaining PC compatibility I suppose). cheers Ion |

you could keep it pc format, try and see how many tracks you can play back or record to it at one time with the pc format, if it gives a useable amount then why bother re-formatting.

- do you really need the compatibility?
- FAT32 won't be bootable (you'll have to reformat it in HFS(+) if you want to install a MAC OS system) else it should work… -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
