I recently asked about the O1X and I got some helpful responses, but are there anymore users out there that can tell me whether it is or isn't Mac OS X compatible yet?
Some sites say yes and some say no. ...And I only found 2 places where they even have them in stock.
How come the major music stores, like Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc. don't have them. MusiciansFriend.com, Samedaymusic.com, etc. don't have them either. How come?
In one of the info. movie clips they mention that for Mac OS X is going to eventually be part of the O1X's operating system , so my main question is, ....have they done that yet? .....Is the O1X.. Mac OS X compatible yet?
Any response would be immensely appreciated.
Thanks!

I'm also a happy owner of a 01X!
Mac OS X is not yet supported. But it soon will be (a matter of days?). And the coolest thing is that mLAN will be a part of Mac OS X! The question is if the support will only be in Panther (Mac OS X 10.3) and not in Jaguar (Mac OS X 10.2). I'll probably get Panther anyway, so it's not a very big deal if Jaguar wont be supported...
The bundled effects are already in Audio Unit format, which may explain why some of the sites you've seen says the 01X is OS X compatible.
Apparently the 01X was being demo'ed at the recent NAMM show running audio hooked up to a Mac running OS X. The MIDI-part was still missing, though. So obviously the support is not far away...
I got this info from the forums at www.01Xray.com and www.mlancentral.com. You can also check www.yamahasynth.com.

Thanks so much for responding.
Can I ask what Daw you're running? I was thinking of going with DP4 myself, which brings me to some other questions.......
Will I still need to run 828mkII along with DP4? ....And what about Surround Sound capabilties for the O1X?
Also, will I be able to hook up my outboard gear, like my DBX 160SL compressor for example? Cause there are no inserts on the O1X, right?
I'm excited that I'm getting good reports on the O1X. For about six months or so I've been researching Daws to death and I'm starting to feel like I'll go mad if I don't make a decision soon.
I'm so hoping that the O1X will be the ticket, at last. My only dilema now is, ...why don't more people own the O1X, if it's such a great unit?
With all the incompatabilty issues out there, I'm so wary of making the wrong choice. Heeeeeelp!
Hope to hear from ya and thanks again, Nels

Bonatoc in the French forums (a 01x owner) found out there will be natvie support in the 10.3.3 version of OSX. As I'm not 100% sure it's 10.3.3 or it covers the update of last monday… can someone with X installed and the 01X try if it's the case? Just checked Yamaha site… still promising… [update] Just happened to know the 10.3.3 is in final stages… check Apple site the next weeks Yeepeeeh
