Paid my 80 Euros to upgrade to Live 2.0 a couple of days ago. Awesome new features like different timestretch engines (acoustic guitar tracks actually can be used in Live now), ability to turn those engines off for individual samples, better automatization, etc.

Performance looks to be the same like 1.5 - which means that it still isn't Altivec optimized, and faster on PCs, but the Ableton guys are Mac users themselves and are promising to add this (requiring a bunch of rewrites) for the next upgrade. Anyways, especially with software like Live the performance is nowhere near as important as creativity.

Just got off the phone with the german distributor for Akai Pro. The MPC-style drumpad MPD16 will be supported via USB come October (already works via MIDI). The rep also told me that the ak.sys software would be ready for OSX in October. This info came directly from Akai Japan (I was bugging the distributor earlier, so they emailed HQ tongue.gif).

As someone mentioned in another thread itīd be good to have a comprehensive list of which carbonized VST plugins are available at the moment. Letīs see what I have in my VstPlugIns folder...

MDA VST Collection
Destroy FX Collection
Frohmage (the whole OhmBoyz vst collection is available, but the rest arenīt freeware)
Spectrafier
Excitifier
Phaserifier
Chorusifier
freeverb-c
bias freq (not freeware either)

Spark FX Machine of course, plus all the great Spark XL plugins they already ported (Sonic Destructor!). Letīs hope TC brings the rests of the plugins over soon. (no freeware either, of course)

thereīs more, I think osxaudio.com usually lists all the new ones..
