It worked fine on my old G3 mac but now I have transferred everything to the new G4 Quicksilver Digial Audio with twice the amount of memory I can't for the life of me remember what I did the first time around to get Bias Peak le vs 3.2.1 to make the VST plugins work. The old machine was OS9.1 and this new one has 9.2 and 10.2. But I am running this in 9.2 for the time being. I have been posted to the Bias forum for ages and although plenty of bods look at my posting - there does not seem to be anyone there who can answer my question. - S T R A N G E or what!
SO anyway back to the plot. I have a Delta44 and its drivers loaded where they should be in the system folder and also inside Peak - ASIO. But every time I select a VST effect it says that it needs ASIO or Core Audio (core audio is also in the peak folder ?) SO I cannot select the sound out prefs to choose my sound card through the ASIO, I am only allowed to use the Delta 44. If I could select the Delta through the asio I KNOW it will work. It has to be something really stupid that is missing. I turned on the old G3 and remembered something about SPROCKETS. Would this be the answer.?? Any help or even a chat would be nice. Thanks |

Im not sure about the drivers and core audio - ASIO stuff. But all your VST plugs should be in the VST folder inside the Peak folder.
If your VST plugs are OS 9... versions i dont think they will work in OS 10.. |

Yup! there are loads of them in the VST folder inside Peak. Even the ones which come with Peak wont work.
For OSX i have a selection of mda's and other types in that Peak folder. |

OS9 VST plug-ins are not compatible on OSX : you need OSX verions of your plugs.
Also if it doesnt work in the Peak VST folder, try in: Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST HTH -------------------- Soif, MacMusic Webmaster

I need to download the 3.2.1 version to get everything to work fine on OSX and as far as that goes the OSX plugins work it just goes belly up after I bounce and then go to turn the plugins off, which is a recognised bug that version 3.2.1 fixes on OSX. To be honest I will work with Peak under ANY OS just as long as it works. BUT for now I am trying to sort out the one on OS9.2 This post has been edited by Syne Wave: Fri 12 Nov 2004, 17:43 |

Make sure in OS 9 the folder for VST plug-ins is named exactly "VST Plug-Ins", case sensistive.
Hope that helps- SB |

Tried youre suggestion and rename the VST folder. It made no difference.
I do see the list of effects etc in the appropriate VST Plug-ins folder but they will not function when I select them. |

Hi to all,
I have also been unable to load additional VST plug-ins into Peak LE. The plugins that came with Peak are working O.K. I do not have a direct solution to the problem mentioned, but why not do an audio export with the Plug-ins you want and then move that file into Peak. I know that many of the MDA plugins are available for free on sites like Maxim Digital Audio, Noisevault.com, simulanalog.org/guitarsuite.htm pspaudioware.com/indexen and of course many others. You can always use these plugins on buses in VST to "simulate" how they will effect a total mix in Peak. Hopefully the sound quality in Peak LE is better. I admit that I am why a company releases an LE version of their software which is guaranteed to unimpress! I guess they want customers who will never buy the full version of the software that is driving them crazy. Well - if someone else has tips on Peak LE - fire away! -------------------- The revolution WILL be televised, but don't ask me for the channel...

Hello Sound Surfer, Nice to talk to a fellow appreciator of BIAS and all it's wonderfull follies. Just think without this we would never have learned of each other's existence. ENOUGH of LYRICAL.!
I have gone over to OS X for now on the plugin's problem. But have a new pet problem. DIGITAL CLICKING. First 1/2 hour recording works fine, second maybe, third just pushes my luck. Usual solution is to quit and reload PEAK if not restart MAC. FIRST NIGGLE: I cannot make the buffer selector in BIAS stay on 1024 or higher. I have my DELTA44 control panel set to 1024. I changed those on OS9 OK. SECOND NIGGLE: Freq works, but some of the other effects make BAIS go belly up and wiggle it's feet in the air. OH I do love this crap. Shame, the software would be wonderful if worked. Seriously considering going over to B.Gate's PC - someone please send HELP |
