I am working on a concept band. This band will utilize multiple midi controllers in a live performance situation. I have a Mac running OSX and two edirol um-880s (8 in 8 out midi interface) Unfortuneately, it seems as though most software only allows you to actually play one midi controller at a time. Is anyone aware of a software (or hardware) that would allow multiple midi controllers to be played simultaneously?(Differebt sounds).
Please help. |

You can definitely do it in Logic Pro (and I assume Logic Express, though not sure of Logic Express's limitations).
It is easiest to do this by assigning the MIDI transmit channel for each controller keyboard to a different MIDI channel number. This can be done on the controller keyboard itself or in Logic's environment. The sounds/software synths that you want to play would be assigned to corresponding MIDI channels. If you buy Logic I can go into more detail when you have it. |
