I cant find i way to expand my desktop for use with dual display on my
G-4, 733Mhz. I use the DVI and the ADC outputs on a GeForc 2mx card under OS 9.1.1. Both monitors works, but displays the same picture. |

Try to lower the size in case you ask too much, and see also in the control panel if you don't ask for some screen copy between the two…
OS 9 accepts like all classic flavours since… to have more than one monitor, but I don't know if the 2MX can do so… -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

re Dual screens on G4 733 under OS 9.1.1...
I had problems using the original AGP video card that came with the G4 Basicly, Apple didn't include the extended desktop function in their standard video cards (even though there are two connecters!) I had problems later using a PCI based ATI card that gave me the extended desktop but my soundcard (2408 MOTU) and others don't like to share the PCI bus with a graphics card... Finally I got a ATI Radeon 9000 Pro Mac Edition AGP Card (150 euros)to replace the original Mac one and now it works fine! |

it's just not a dual head card.. get another to replace, or add a second PCI video card.
it looks like ATI has a 9.2.2 minimum requirement This post has been edited by lancet: Fri 16 Dec 2005, 06:48 -------------------- |

Thank you:) It seems like the GeForce2mx needs 64mb of ram for dual head operation, mine just have 32mb.
I´ll probably write a letter to Santa and wish for a new one:) This post has been edited by oddandreas: Fri 16 Dec 2005, 20:57 |
