Few video cards have Mac drivers and a mac firmware. As we need specific drivers for OS X, and we need some code in the firmware for the handshake of the plug and play. As card manufacturers think the Mac is not a great market for them we usually have at disposal only the models Apple thinks we need, and can buy on the Applestore, and usually the same models with sometimes a deviated one from the manufacturer.
Given the market share is growing, we can hope the situation will get better. Now it's good to see at which markets are these cards aimed. Usually it's for games, and Macs are not the platform of choice for now, or in this case, it is for traders, who run specific software on windows machines.
Now, there may be some tiny hope, as there is a community of card flashers for the mac, to transform (cheap) windows video cards into working mac cards. If there's a driver/firmware close to the point, it may be possible. If the card is not available for Macs, then it's the only solution. I'll have a look on the specific forums today and see if they are already on the roadmap.
