I've just put Protools Free on my PB g3 500 after having used it on my PowerMac8500(g4 400 ugraded). While Protools free works great on the 8500 on the Powerbook it has an annoying delay that I just can't get around. When I play guitar into the unit this delay is just enough through my timing totally off. P.S. I'm really a newbie to digital recording so please keep the explanations at a simple level. Both computers are running sys9, I'm using an imic on the PB, but even through the audio input (Which is intermittent and crackly, hence the imic) the delay is still there.I tried writing the tracks to a Ram disk, thinking the 5400RPM drive might be a tad slow, but this didn't help either. Is There any way around this?

A simple search would have given you the answer:

driver asio usb propagamma

you pay and you have a usable latency tongue.gif cool.gif
