We would like to get my daughter started with keyboarding lessons. I've heard this is very 'do-able' on our Mac (slot loading imac OSX). What suggestions do you have for a keyboard with compatible hook ups for interphase (interphase suggestions too) with our computer. Software?, Etc. . .

This is my opinion. You are probably better off buying her one of those Casio Keyboards with the training feature in it. They probably won't cost you more than $300. After all, setting up such an environment with your Mac is not the easiest thing to do and I think your daughter will enjoy the ease of all-in-one keyboards.

But that's my take based on my experience alone.

more seriously, I think Ryosode is quite right, first learn an instrument easily set up. Then you can complicate things, if you want to…
