I put os 9 on my G5 OS 10.4.7 because I found an old programme that used it anyway I decided not to run the programme SO now I want to get rid of OS 9 from my G5 but don't want to mess my sysytem up ...

CAN ANY ONE ADVISE ME - should I remove OS 9 ?

>>> If so HOW ?<<<<

Does OS 9 affect the day-to-day running of my beloved G5 / Logic set-up unless OS 9 is started up ??

I had a feeling that Logic did'nt work as well after putting 9 on there but that could be my imagination !
When it is not activated does OS 9 effect the computer or drain any resourses in any way ??

Help on this matter appreciated.
THANKS GUYS

drag the OS 9 system folder to the trash, empty the trash

thats it, you're done. wink.gif

(It only takes up about 250MB of HD space anyhow and when classic isn't running it takes up nothing but disk space. )

CHEERS MATE !
D'ya think I should leave it on the computer ??
I can't think why I would need it - but if it doesn't affect running OSX maybe I should leave it as is !!
THANKS AGAIN

I still have it on my machine. There's still one or two OS 9 apps I use. (okay, maybe only once or twice a year.)

"Thonk" anyone?? wink.gif

It wouldn't hurt to leave it.

Leave it where it is, you never know… wink.gif

One thing you can do is visit the classic prefpanel to warn you before launching (just to save you the bother if you make a little mistake), save that, it won't bother you at all.
