I'd like to create an internet radio station that streams music to interested parties. it would rock most if it were based on the Mac platform and integrated into iTunes radio stations, but I'm open to other suggestions. The Apple dealers in Chicago know nothing about this, and when I called Apple Support, not only did they not have the answer, they refused to reveal who is the person at Apple in charge of iTunes radio. Any suggestions?

I have experience broadcasting with Shoutcast, so if you have any questions I can try to help.

First you should make a try with a friend without meddling with your IP. If it works you can go further and eventually find the offender (wich is certainly what you add…)

If it doesn't work with your friend, then you have some issue over the ways the stream can go out. it can be closed ports in or out of you computer (or your friend's), it can be a firewall, it can be the filtering of some port on a network… cool.gif

You'll need a computer to use as a server with a fast internet connection, you'll need rights to music you broadcast, and you'll need the broadcasting computer. A number of things like maximum users and quality come into play. You can do it for free or spend hundreds of dollars on it monthly.

That though is if you're going to want to broadcast to peoples. If you're just doing it to yourself or maybe one other person, it's easy to do it free and no one will care if you don't have the rights.

Try Rogue Amoeba's NiceCast. Works great on a Mac and you can post your stream at macstreams.com
This is what I use for my radio station and I love it.
