Doesn't seem to work in Nuendo, which is strange, it's supposed to have very similar midi structure.

I wrote Emagic in German about this topic and they told me that a future update of Logic 5.0 shall be fully VST 2.0 compatible. We`ll see (or not)...
Hopefully: Peter

i'm giving your plugin a try in nuendo, but having some troubles. I thought it would work without a hitch since cubase and nuendo are so closely related, but i can't figure out where to assign the track to send the midi out to.

i can see the app converting the audio to midi notes, so i know it's working there, it's just routing that information to make it useful that i can't make work.

Any advice? the answer is likely staring me in the face, but i noticed someone else post about the plug not being happy with nuendo so...

if this works though (especially once the OS X nuendo is done!) you'll have my registration in seconds.

I think that creating an OMS instrument is the way to go... It would work with about anything.

Now I am posting my question in this older thread, as request of the webmaster, so you will see the question twice...

I'm using Cubase Vst/32 on a Mac and am trying to use the Pitch to Midi plug demo, by Polyfractus. I figure I am missing the obviously. I bet it is very simple.....
Here are the directions....
"Insert the PI2M plug on the audio track to convert. Set up option (FFT size, window size...)
Select MIDI track to play or record.
Start playing..."
Ok, so I inserted the plug on a audio insert (not an effects send). It seems to work, I can see it converting the data.
BUT, how do I select a midi track? Well, I know how to do that, duh, but how do I get it to relate ot the plug which is on an audio track?

well it's been a few years, and I still haven't found a simple pitch to midi solution for the Mac under OSX.

Has anyone found anything for this? Ideally as a VST plugin? I see a ton of stuff on the PC but nothing on the Mac.

Any info is appreciated, thanks

You can find "WIDI Audio to MIDI plugin" in the software section.
I've tested it and worked well for monopolic line.

If you used DP 4.6 and above, there's feature for this which works great.

Logic also has this function built-in. Open the sample editor for the audio region you want to convert, go to the [Factory] menu and select [Audio to Score]. Works okay for clear-cut monophonic material but doesn't do polyphonic stuff too well.

Melodyne is another, rather pricey option for this kind of thing, but I've yet to find a plug-in that does it, or at least one that does it for free. Haven't tried WIDI, it is quite affordable but is a VST-only plug.
