Does anyone have tips or any links to tutorials regarding the use of subtractive EQ? I know that in order to get a really good, coherent mix some it's good to eliminate "unnecessary" frequencies that some instruments may produce & this often serves to actually boost some instruments presence in the mix as well. I just don't know what kind of EQ to apply to certain instruments like drums (loops or otherwise) or keys or guitar. While we're on the subject, any ideas on compression (ratios, times, etc?) & panning (stereo tracks)?
