I haven't found a good comparison of these interfaces concerning macs and audio production. I know the common opinion is that firewire sustains higher transfer rates, and is more popular for musiciaions, but in my experience its a little buggier, and i always re-start before plugging in, whereas USB seems to just work better for everyday use. I'm looking at the lacie porsche drives and its either one or the other, and i have a 4/10 thats using my only firewire port (ibook G4) so i'd have to diasy-chain them if i get the firewire, which i've had problems with in the past, its just doesn't seem to work that well when running the external drive right through the interface and using both at the same time. any advice, links or experience?
