Hello all,
I'm learning Logic Pro one step at a time. I've been working very nicely with my M-Audio Solo recording live instruments. I now have a midi controller, an Akai USB/MIDI pad controller, and a midi string sound module. My question is; do I only need a single midi in/out interface for the sound module and run the other two controllers via USB? Or do I run all three through a midi interface that will handle 2 ins and 1 out (at least). The manuals fail to address such basic questions. I'm using Logic Pro 7, and an iMac G5. Thanks! Also, any advice on which midi interface to take a look at would be helpful as well. James

I am trying beat mapping for the first time. I am attempting this on a region with a full song. After it has been "analyzed" I try to start my adjustments when the alert "Song start must be at 1 1 1 1 for adjustments". I have tried moving this region all around. I don't understand what to put where so that I can make my first adjustments. There is about a single bar of silence, then a short vocal intro, then the drums start around the 3rd bar. Thanks for any help.

I now have Logic Pro 7 on my new G5 imac. I would like to "record" or "sample" my sounds from my Alesis DM Pro sound module before i sell the thing. I've been working with Logic for about a month and my question is: How do I "transfer" all of the sounds from the sound module? Do I record them one at a time and use them as samples? Is there a way to do a MIDI dump so they all appear as midi choices and not recordings? There's a lot to learn with new program and I'm not finding my question answered easily in the pile of manuals and books I have already purchased. I appreciate any help given but please answer as if I know little to nothing. Thanks!

Wow, this site looks like an answered prayer! Greetings all, I sold my mini disc recorder and all my outboard gear, patch bays, mixers, etc. I'm buying an imac G5, Logic Pro 7, and some M Audio midi controlers and interfaces. My question is, whats the best way to save the sounds from my Alesis DM Pro sound module before I sell that too? Perhaps the drum sounds in Logic negate the reason to do so. Do I use the sampler in Logic, or just use the firewire interface and save it as a sound file to my drive? I'm new to Mac and Logic but a fast learner.
