i know this is stupid but i'm gonna ask anyway.
do you think the G4 imac can be a good DAW ? i know it doesn't have any PCI but it can use USB soundcard. and the G4 processing seems quite fast. please contribute your $0.02. thanks.

I am planning to get this powerbook G3.
I am in a place where it's expensive to get a new mac. Right now there's 1 secondhand powerbook G3 333 Mhz on sale. I'm thinking of getting it. My question: will it give me a good system to work on ? i'll basically use protools or peak LE, or maybe digital performer. Can i expect much from it ? The system got 160 MB Ram (planning to upgrade) And what external soundcard would you recommend ? please not digidesign/MOTU. i can't afford it right now. p/s: sorry if this was in the wrong thread. i'm studying audio engineering in SAE http://www.saemalaysia.com |
