If one were to start from scratch with the intent of creating a simple music composing and performance set-up, and money was not the main criterion, what hardware(ie computer, keyboard, etc.) and software would you currently buy.

Since I am a non-musician who uses sound, I have an Akai MPC3000, Korg T3 keyboard, with Pro Tools and a Mac G4. If I were you, I'd get a Triton keyboard. It is well designed, has a great set of sounds, it can sample and it includes a decent sequencer.
 Peace.

Actually, I'm interested in doing both orchestral and techno. What set-up(s) would you suggest?
