Greetings, i have recently bought a Akai S3000XL and a Iomega 250mb parallel port zip drive. The problem occurs when i switch on the akai with the zip drive connected, akai says "waiting for hard disk ready..." and freezes, but if i boot from floppy, akai also freezes if i try to access the zip from the save pages.I have checked akai and zip manuals but to no avail so any help or advice would be well recieved. Cheers, Olivaffair.

Hi,
I too had a SCSI zip which suddenly wouldn't let me access it any more via S3000XL but the port I discovered to be still OK as it can read AKAI CDROM's from my Yamaha CRW4416SX read/write/burner/drive. It is old and therefore v cheap on the second hand market. Also, there is a piece of software called Interpreter which allows Mac's to read AKAI files. Good luck J -------------------- Macbook Pro 2 ghz/15"/10.3.4/1 g RAM/x2 monitors/Logic Pro 7.2/Ableton Live 5.0/Reason 3/Fireface 800/PSP Vintage Warmer/Roland JD800/Roland SH101/Arturia Moog Modular/Epiphone Firebird 7/Guitar Rig/Dynaudio BM5a monitors.
