The reason behind the bogus DVD burner is the laptop is too thin for better burners unfortunately. There's none available which could fit and be faster.

No news about Digidesign, they must be at best testing PT 7 on the MacIntel, I think we'll ear about it when they can tell when it'll be released. They are supposed to focus on a pro market, they don't f…k up by telling thing they can't do usually. unsure.gif

A bothering thing about the ExpressCard port is it's not the largest one, so no hard drives in this format, it'll be interfaces only then. When we'll have some… RME come and save us! laugh.gif

I hope the "Pro" will be more valid with the 17" model. Oh I hate these marketing gimmicks… angry.gif

The current PowerBook G4 has a dual-layer SuperDrive, FireWire 800 and a standard PC Card slot. Just three reasons why someone's buying decision is not as clear cut as it could have been. Definitely worth waiting to see what happens to the MacBook Pro in the next few months.

I'd expect a super pro 17" version, as this one is semi-pro IMHO wink.gif (now with Apple, we can't be sure till it's here).

Meanwhile, the "old" powerbooks still work wink.gif even if expensive (in regard of performances)

there's some hints of the reasons on the silence upon the battery time. A bug in the pre-serial macbooks prevents from making accurate timings (USB2 ports just overflow with power juice in some way) even if the figures won't be 10 hours in the end (dual core are power hungry) production models will behave better than the actual circulating prototypes. rolleyes.gif
