 Midi Playback Problems With Emac G4, complex MIDI bogs down QT synth |

Have complex MIDIs (lots of tracks, notes and controllers) that playback fine with no problems on the PCs with Turtle Beach soundcards they were created on. I've tried to play them back using an eMac G4 - 1 GB and the QT synthesizer overloads and stops. Please suggest some external USB alternatives or other software options to get around this limitation in the QuickTime synth.

The most obvious solution would be to get an external MIDI device and playback through that.
