Sorry if I've missed a thread here somewhere, but I wanted to specifically address the Logic Audio (Big Box) users about LE7.

From what I've gleaned from other forums, it would seem that there is no upgrade path for Logic Audio 6 users to Logic Express 7. One poster claimed that there is an upgrade for about $99. Others claim that you have to pay full price.

There is no way in hell I will pay full price ($299). The only reason I would fork out the $99 is to stay in the support loop. Apple is pulling the plug on v6 users by the end of this year.

More news greatly appreciated.

Good point about the dismal development in support, or lack thereof. I have only needed to call Emagic a couple of times, but was glad that I could.

I think Apple is making a big mistake with the Apple Care approach.

i have to say that i am in for the long haul. i have been using logic for a looooonnng time. i can't afford to switch back (windows). i wouldn't dare. i hate that it has come to apple care support. if they do apple care support i am going to use the version that i have now a long time. i don't have to call for support much, but it is nice to know i can/could call someone and just talk without being treated like i am a bother. everytime i have dealt with apple care it is with script reading moron's. almost as bad a calling the local broadband isp. hahahahahaha
i crack myself up with that one.
